Acquisition & Due Diligence research

If you are looking to improve your turnover by acquiring another business, you need to ensure you are looking at the right sorts of companies, and then need strong due diligence research so that you are entering any negotiations with a full set of data to back your acquisition bid.

There are two types of acquisition research that we provide:

Target Shortlist Research

We put together a shortlist of potential acquisition targets based on a set of criteria developed in consultation with you.

  • We will work to look for businesses in specific sectors, within certain size bands (such as employee numbers or turnover size) and the location of the businesses
  • This will result in a list of potential acquisition targets for further investigation

Due Diligence Research

This work takes place after you have agreed in principle to purchase your intended acquisition. Our work to inform you in your due diligence process can include:

  • Attitudinal research – amongst your target company’s customers and non-customers to see what the market’s perception of the target company is and what its perceived strengths and weaknesses are
  • Market Share Analysis – analysing whether the company has the market share that it claims to have
  • Full scale situation assessment – we look at the full picture of your potential investment which includes analysing market size, segmentations, critical success factors, customer needs, image of the target with strengths and weaknesses

"An extremely useful piece of research which played an important role in assessing a potential acquisition. The ability to get a representative sample and get them to talk!” – Chairman, Engineering Group
